Process

Building a new home or renovating one is an exciting time. Planning for that build is equally exciting and we enjoy taking that journey with you.

Here are the steps to get there:

Step 1. Initial consultation

Your first step is an initial obligation free consultation over the phone with a qualified and experienced designer about your project. Our designer will learn more about your project, talk to you about the services we provide and provide you with an approximate quote on your project, all within 5 to 10 minutes.

Call us on (07) 3266 7243.

Step 2. Site visit detailed brief

Next, if you’re happy to discuss your project further, our designer would be glad to meet you on site for a face-to-face consultation at a time convenient for you.

This provides an opportunity to discuss design options with you and find out more about your wants and needs. We will complete a detailed design brief which is crucial to the success of the project and forms the basis of a unique design suited to you and your circumstances.

Step 3. Existing conditions plans

(renovations and extensions only)

If your project is a renovation or extension, we will measure-up all existing structures at time of site visit. A model will then be generated with reference to the on-site measure and findings; this will then form the basis for the proposed works.

Step 4. Design development

This is the exciting part where we present you with unique and creative hand drawn design concepts.

The design process is a collaborative effort so you can be assured your input is welcome.

We’ll further develop and refine the design using our 3D modelling design programs.

Step 5. Development applications

(not applicable to all projects)

For projects that require planning, detailed drawings to comply with council’s strict requirements for development applications will be produced.

We will also solicit, coordinate and attend required meetings with council and a qualified town planning consultant who will prepare the accompanying report. If you are unsure if your project requires a planning application (DA) please contact us for advice.

Step 6. Construction drawings

Once you’re happy with your design, we document the project and prepare construction documentation suitable for building certification and construction.

As part of our dedication to providing a quality service, we produce comprehensive and detailed documentation which enables builders to quote accurately (so there are no nasty surprises later). This reduces the possibility of hidden variations at the time of construction, allowing the project to stay on budget.
